Official Statutes

The EBMT Swiss Nurses Working Group (hereafter referred to “EBMT Swiss NG”) is a non-profit organization. The EBMT Swiss NG is collaborating with the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and has a nursing representative in the Swiss Blood Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (SBST). The financial year of the EBMT Swiss NG coincides with the calendar year.


Objectives of the EBMT Swiss NG

  • Exchange of knowledge, experience and information: Development of a network for nursing staff and learning about clinical issues from institutions
  • Development of best practice guidelines
  • Promotion of basic and advanced education in Haematology and Oncology
  • Collaboration with national and international working groups and related associations
  • Promotion and participation in nursing research
  • Publication of articles in peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed journals


Members

The members of the EBMT Swiss NG are qualified nurses of centres in Switzerland performing haematopoietic stem cell transplantations (allogeneic and/or autologous) and/or cellular therapies as well as centres performing work-up and/or follow-up of these therapies.

Represented centres and current members see enclosure. The membership list is updated at least annually.


Rights and responsibilities of the members

  • Each centre has one contact person and has to appoint a substitute
  • Mandatory attendance of the biannual meetings of the contact person or its substitute from each centre
  • Continuity must be ensured
  • Establish the annual goals of the EBMT Swiss NG

Opinions and decision making process

  • Items to be submitted for discussion and decision must be received in advance so that they can be included in the agenda and non-attending members can give their view on the items by mail to the president.
  • Decisions will be made based on the majority of votes by the members of the working group: 2/3 of the centres have to be represented at that certain meeting to reach a decision.
  • Each participating centre has one vote


Organization of the EBMT Swiss NG


EBMT Swiss Nursing Group Board

The EBMT Swiss NG Board, who is in charge of managing the Group, consists of three (3) persons.

Duties of the President

  • Achieving in joint responsibility with the members the goal set by the EBMT Swiss NG
  • Chairing (or delegating this duty to a member) of the biannual meetingSending a reminder to all members of the working group at least four weeks and the agenda at least two weeks before the upcoming meeting.
  • Sending a reminder to all members of the working group at least four weeks and the agenda at least two weeks before the upcoming meeting.
  • Sending the protocol of the meeting within one month to all members
  • Organizing and maintaining contacts with third parties (e.g. National and International Working groups in the field of the Stem Cell Transplantation, Cellular therapies, Haematology and Oncology as well as representatives from the Industry)
  • Providing regular information to the Working Group members
  • Access to the Working Group bank account

Duties of the Vice President

  • Substitute and support of the president and/or treasurer in all duties
  • Writing and dispatching the minutes of the meeting
  • Filing of protocols and current membership list

Duties of the Treasurer

  • Keeping track of the budget
  • Biannual report on the budget to the EBMT Swiss NG
  • Access to the EBMT Swiss NG account
  • Taxes will be cleared by the treasurer as demanded by the Swiss law
  • The Swiss NG Board can decide on spending less than the absolute sum of CHF 1000.- without asking their members

All earnings and profits made by a member on behalf of the Group will belong to the EBMT Swiss NG.


Homepage of the EBMT Swiss NG

One of the members is responsible for the homepage of the group.


Voting procedure

  • Members of the board are elected anonymously
  • One vote per center
  • At least 2/3 of the centres of the Working Group have to be represented in the voting before a new committee can be installed.
  • New elections take place every 2 years, re-election is possible, but for a maximum period of 10 years.
  • The Vice President or another member of the group will take over the position of the president after confirmation by its members.


Frequency and location of the meeting

  • Participants of the EBMT Swiss NG meet twice annually for at least half a day. One of the two meetings can be held virtually.
